The Estonian Open Air Museum
Located in the western suburbs of Tallinn, the Estonian Open Air Museum is a lifesize village replicating farm life in Estonia throughout the last centuries. Visitors are able to immerse themselves in history, stepping through the decades and centuries merely by walking from farm to farm. Most of the buildings are original, and moved from different parts of Estonia. The depth of knowledge and experience the visitor receives is truly impressive, and seeing the different ways in which Estonian farmers lived - from when the country was a part of the Russian Empire, through to independence and Soviet rule - leaves a deep impression.
